KINETROL
uses the venerable word "Dashpot" where the word "Damper"
is often used. This is (a) because "Dashpot" has always
referred only to liquid filled energy absorbing motion control devices,
whereas "Damper" is also used to refer to an entirely
irrelevant family of flow control valves applied typically to gas
flow ducting, and (b) because we are British, and respectful of
well established verbal usages as long as they remain precise and
concise. This conservative attitude to nomenclature is also applied
to the quality of our products, but does not hinder our open minded
and forward looking approach to engineering.
